Canada House – Installation Spotlight

logo2Canada House – Pompano Beach, Florida

Situated in sunny Pompano Beach, Florida and offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Canada House timeshare resort enjoys a highly desirable location. Until recently, however, the property frequently suffered from common guest Internet issues, such as weak connections and poor reception to many of its rooms, due to the use of an W-Bldg-4outdated network and obsolete equipment. With timeshare owners often staying weeks at a time, many expressed frustration over the lack of connectivity offered by the existing Wi-Fi network, which was not designed to effectively handle the bandwidth needs of today’s guests, who tend to carry multiple devices when traveling. Exacerbating the situation was the fact that the main building of the resort was constructed with thick concrete walls, which were difficult to carry a signal through. When the lack of connectivity began to take a toll on guest satisfaction levels and property reputation, Canada House management began searching for an effective remedy to modernizing the Wi-Fi network…..

Innisbrook Golf Resort – Installation Spotlight

innisbrook_logoInnisbrook Golf Resort – 900 wooded acres of rolling hills, 600 spacious suites, a new luxury spa, six heated pools, four restaurants, three bars and a collection of four golf courses designed by Larry Packard, and lest we forget Wi-Fi by Hotel Internet Services. Here’s what Innisbrook Golf Resort IT Director J. Rigg White had to say about the entire process:

innisbrook3a“Innisbrook’s previous Wi Fi systems were supposed to deliver property wide coverage, but never did, even as more APs were added. There were always problem locations where getting a signal was difficult, and other areas where connections were either slow or inconsistent.”

High speed Wi-Fi Internet access and ubiquitous coverage is in demand by resort and hotel guests. Simultaneously, the wireless-only devices being brought into the resort has multiplied dramatically. Innisbrook needed to switch out older technology to state-of-the-art Smart Wi-Fi and HIS responded rapidly to guest needs, selecting Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi products and technologies…

The Queen Mary – Case Study

the-queen-maryNoted as one of the ten most haunted places in the world by the travel site Legends of America, some- thing more modern haunts the historic ship, Queen Mary — big Wi-Fi problems. With myriad nooks and crannies, obstacles everywhere and thick metal walls, the ship’s construction and configuration, until recently, made it next to impossible to get Wi-Fi working properly. Short of installing hundreds of access points (AP), which would haunt the ship with a whole new set of RF and management problems, the exorbitant cost was too scary to consider.

Avoiding Obstacles and Interference Essential to Delivering Consistent Wi-Fi Aboard the Queen Mary.

Previously, the Queen Mary had only been able to offer broadband access over the dated qe_suite_bedroom.1188x0electrical network using Powerline technology. This required front desk staff to check in and out special power adapters that guests could use to plug Ethernet cables into their laptops and other devices,
assuming a wall jack was available.

Meanwhile, more and more guest were coming aboard with handheld mobile devices, like iPhones and MAC AIR laptops that do not have integrated Ethernet jacks.
